Dr. Brophy is compassionate, personable, and thorough. She opened her own clinic about a year ago, and has been providing low cost services to her community with the highest quality of care. Within days of opening she had already accepted a puppy that was starved, found in the trash, and had multiple breaks with no prospect of ever being paid. She has since helped several other animals in the same way when other more established clinics in the area turned them away. The vet community could learn a lot from this young but excellent vet, and the animal community should encourage vets like her. This is why I believe whole heartedly she deserves to win this distinction, and why she deserves to win the funds to help other animals in need that otherwise wouldn't get help. She, and other vets like her, need to know that they are not alone.
